Teenage driver fined for speeding

A YOUNG motorist drove a vehicle through a built-up area at 49mph – with two teenage girls inside.

Jamie Game sped over speed bumps and swerved several times while being pursued by a police car.

Game (18) of Ferry Road, Fiskerton, near Lincoln, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and failing to stop for police.

Prosecutor Jim Clare told Lincoln magistrates a policeman inside a marked vehicle began following Game’s Ford Fiesta in Cherry Willingham on April 21 at about 8.45pm.

He followed the Fiesta along Hawthorn Avenue when Game started accelerating, later reaching 49mph in a built-up area.

Game, representing himself, said he was worried his insurance had expired, even though it had not. He was given six points for driving without due care, giving him 12 penalty points. He is now disqualified from driving for six months. He was also fined £120.
