11/02/15 Two men arrested in Gainsborough in connection with Fiskerton robbery

33A Sturgate man arrested in connection with a post office robbery in Fiskerton will now appear before Lincoln Crown Court.

Anton Stepniewski, 26, stood before Lincoln Magistrates on February 14 and will remain in custody until his Crown Court date on March 2.

Police were called out to the scene at 10.05am on February 10 following reports of a robbery at the post office in the village hall on Ferry Road. The thief demanded cash and fled the scene when it was handed over.

One member of staff was involved in the incident but was not injured.

Suzanne Davies, detective inspector, said: “I would like offer my thanks to the local Fiskerton community; a great number of local residents, and indeed some from further afield, contacted Lincolnshire Police with information in relation to this incident. We are very grateful for your help.”

A 22-year old was also detained in connection with the incident but has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
