Worker left injured after fire at Lincolnshire ammunition factory

A Lincolnshire ammunition firm says it is investigating the cause of a fire that left one of its workers in hospital.

Emergency fire and rescue crews arrived at Primetake Limited on Reepham Road to tackle a blaze at around 11.30am on Wednesday, September 30.

Two BAs and one hose reel jet was used.

One worker suffered burns and was taken to hospital by an ambulance though their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The business, which produces specialist ammunition and demolition accessories, has confirmed it is investigating the incident to find out what caused the fire.

A statement from Primetake Limited said: “At approximately 11.30am Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance service attended an incident at our site on Reepham Road, Fiskerton.

“A small fire was extinguished and a member of our team was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

“Primetake Limited are conducting an exhaustive enquiry as to the circumstances of the incident and will offer no further comment until such time as this has been completed.”

On September 29, Sleaford fire crews were called to a fire in the ground floor of an office block in Kesteven Street after the photocopier caught fire.

The road was closed while two crews of firefighters tackled the blaze using four sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a blower fan, and a thermal imaging camera.

The fire damaged the photocopier and smoke damaged the building.

Firefighters believe an electrical fault to have caused the fire.
